Cannabidiol (CBD), a Cannabis sativa components, popularity has increased tremendously recently. Along with it, a lot of questions being asked every day.
To research the answer to the question, "Can using Cannabidiol (CBD) reduce stress?" I found a preclincial human experimental and clincial observation study using cannabidiol to treat anxiety and related disorders.
“oral doses ranging from 300 to 600 mg, CBD reduces experimentally induced anxiety in healthy controls,”
“existing preclinical evidence strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder when administered acutely”
It demonstrated the anxiolytic (calming) influence it had upon CB1Rs and 5-HT1ARs, located in several brain regions of the endocannabinoid system. The benefit of “lack of anxiety” was achieved with minimal sedative effects and proved to have an excellent safety report.
According to the study, CBD has “considerable potential as a treatment for multiple anxiety disorders”. The disorders included PTSD, GAD, PD, OCD, and SAD. However, the study also suggests there is a need, additional research to be conducted by the scientific community on long term and therapeutic effects Cannabidiol (CBD) and its benefits in treating anxiety disorders.
