Microneedling

Microneedling

Microneedling Involves using a tool with tiny needles at the end that make little holes or needle pricks in the top layers of skin to create a pathway for vitamin  A,  C, anti-oxidants and stem cells to improve skin tone, hydratation and firmness, and decreases the visibility of hyperpigmentation.

The primary benefit of microneedling is its ability to stimulate growth of collagen and elastin, which is the key to new, youthful-looking skin.

All Microneedling treatments at A Younger You Skin Care Center includes a 30 minute LED Phototherapy treatment to help increase collagen and elastin production.

Mature skin is characterized by a loss of elasticity, hyperpigmentation, and dehydration. L-ascorbic acid stimulates the synthesis of collagen type I, inhibits melanogenesis, and helps to maintain correct skin hydration. Combining microneedle with the application of preparations rich in vitamin A, C and stem cells results in better therapeutic effects due to the improved absorption of active substances.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that uses a device that contains tiny needles to puncture the skin.  Microneedling is controlled wounding of the skin. The skin is not brought to the point of bleeding, instead it’s stimulated at the superficial level.  The skin’s barrier is kept intact to promote optimal healing.

This detailed stimulation encourages collagen and elastin production as the skin repairs itself.  The epidermis is a self-renewing organ that rapidly grows over the damaged area.Microneedling at A Younger You Skin Care image1  New, healthy tissue encloses the wounded area, rejuvenate the skin.  An added benefit of microneedling is it allows active concentrated ingredients to more efficiently penetrate the skin, affecting cells at a deeper level.   Microneedling is an excellent treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots.

Proven Results

Research has shown microneedling is beneficial to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the overall appearance of the skin.   A study of 480 patients treated throughout 10 years with microneedling showed a 60–80% improvement, a significant increase in collagen and elastin.   microneedling results image

Microneedling treatments can be done on specific regions of the skin or performed on the entire face.

To reach optimal results a series of 6 microneedling sessions should be done every four to six weeks.

With microneedling you can return to work after the treatment, your skin will have a slight flush for about 24 hours, as though you have been exposed to the sun.

Preparing the skin is important -The effects of microneedling will  improve with the correct home care routine before and after your session

Photoaging is not only due to UV damage, but is also a result of chronic deficiency of vitamin A.   Vitamin A, as retinoic acid, is an essential vitamin for skin rejuvenation and collagen preservation, as well as other antioxidant, vitamin C and E and carotenoids.

Your home care regime should include a retinaldehyde or retinol serum and a vitamin c serum along with other skin building products.  Healthy skin will respond better, and results will last longer.
